My Approach
Everyone brings a different mix of strengths, challenges, identities, histories, and preferences to therapy. I honor this complexity by adapting my approach to fit you.

Though I am confident in treating a wide array of therapeutic needs, I am most at home supporting clients navigating complex grief and sexual health concerns. As a systemically trained therapist, I have received guidance to work, not just with individuals, but also with relationships that are diverse in style, structure, and commitment level. You can count on me to meet you where you’re at. Let’s create more helpful communication patterns and connection habits, make space for compassionate self-talk, work through shame, and navigate grief together.
My treatment style is influenced by Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapies, both of which encourage power of choice, acknowledgment of systemic structures, creative and collaborative problem solving. Our work will include exploring the stories, relationships, and experiences that have shaped you thus far. Together, we will target shame, unmet needs, and other insecurities that may be contributing to unhappiness and find ways to grow beyond them. I will serve as your guide as you master the arts of self-advocacy and boundary setting so you can build a future that fits your vision.

In sessions, I show up as a combination of cheerleader, teacher, navigator, advocate, and listener.
Therapy with me stays human. You can laugh, cry, swear, contradict yourself, disagree, be silent, eat, or tell me when something doesn’t fit. You don’t need perfect words. It’s just me, another bunch of organs wrapped in skin. I bring warmth, curiosity, compassion, humor, and respect while making space for you to show up however you are today.

I know how vulnerable and taxing it is reaching out to new therapists and try to find the right fit. I value your effort and am honored to be in your corner.

My Story
My path to therapy grew from a curiosity about people, relationships, storytelling, and how we make sense of ourselves after life changes.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a high-achieving advertising environment and saw firsthand how pressure, productivity, and constant expectations can disconnect us from our values, joy, and sense of self.

My own grief shaped this career path. After the death of my young dog, Dixie, I spent three years with an incredible grief therapist. Later, when my mom, Karen, died, I trained as a Death Doula by Alua Arthur, supporting people and families through long-term illness in home and hospital settings. These experiences strengthened my commitment to approaching grief with dignity, honesty, tenderness, and choice.

I am trained in Couple and Family Therapy and work with individuals too since our experiences lie within the context of relational structures. I work with couples, committed platonic dyad partners, and diverse relationship structures. Graduate school also introduced me to sex therapy, where I became drawn to questioning inherited rules about bodies, intimacy, gender, sexuality, and relationships. I enjoy helping people create ways of living and relating that fit them more fully.

Outside of therapy, I’m a warmer-month gal who loves swimming with friends, giant homemade chip-stuffed sandwiches, and long walks with my dog, Frankie, especially when we find a Little Free Library.

Grief connects me to one of my earliest and most precious losses: my Noni, Petula Swisher. Long before I knew the phrase, unconditional positive regard, or could even pronounce it, she taught me what it meant to be cared for in that way. Some of my softest memories belong to her, and I carry that experience of care into the way I show up for you.
